From 2010-2019, median single family home prices increased by more than 100%. Incomes increased by just over 50% during this same period. Most recently, we’ve seen even more rapid changes. From 2020-2023, an additional more than 50% increase in median home prices occured.
Things are starting to settle down a bit, however, this is where our price break comes in. Throughout all of these price increases, real estate transaction rates have stayed about the same. For example, in 2010, a seller would have paid about $6,000 for the sale of an average single family home. By 2023, that same seller would pay about $18,000 more for the sale of that SAME average single family home.
That does not seem fair to us.
